Insang Song

Insang is selected as a Raymund fellow for his first PhD year, and he feels certain that the opportunity to be an honorable Raymund fellow should accelerate to establish the firm ground of developing his career as a young scholar.

He is interested in bridging geography and causal inference to recognize the reasons which are crucial to ameliorate or deteriorate health outcomes in multiple geographic levels in his Ph.D. course.

He believes his research would advance the geographical methodology to rediscover the meaning of geography to our everyday world.

He has been studying on the association of health outcomes and socio-environmental factors with geocomputational approach in Seoul National University, Republic of Korea (South Korea), which is his alma mater for both bachelor’s and master’s degrees.

His diverse research experience led him to be exposed to the interdisciplinary research environment, so he also looks forward to finding another research opportunity in studying at the University of Oregon.

After he completes the PhD, he is inspired to expand his research further to related fields and dedicate his career to pioneer the way of finding rigid paths to improve human health in space.
