International Students

We promote and celebrate diversity of all types and strive to ensure that all students, faculty, and staff feel embraced and part of our community. Bringing people of different backgrounds and beliefs together lifts our commuinity and enhances our primary missions of education, research, and service.

Application Information

You are an international applicant if you:

  • Are a citizen or permanent resident of a country other than the United States and you intend to return
  • Are in the United States on an educational, worker, or visitor visa, or are residing in your home country
  • Have filed an application for United States citizenship or permanent residency, but have not yet been granted approval

Getting Started

New international graduate students should plan to attend international graduate student orientation, which is presented by the Division of Graduate Studies in coordination with International Student Orientation Week.

International Graduate Employees

In addition to policies and procedures pertaining to graduate employees (GEs) in general, there are a few policies which apply specifically to those GEs who are international students.
