Updated 3/18/2020: In light of the evolving COVID-19 health situation, the Graduate School is temporarily modifying some of our standard policies and procedures - visit this page for details.
Once you have successfully defended your thesis or dissertation and the content of your thesis or dissertation has been approved by your committee, you must electronically submit your final thesis or dissertation to the ProQuest Electronic Thesis or Dissertation (ETD) Administrator.
Your submission IS NOT COMPLETE until you have uploaded and submitted your thesis or dissertation to the ETD Administrator AND submitted the thesis/dissertation approval form.
Overview of the Submission Process
Upload your electronic thesis or dissertation (ETD) to the ProQuest Administrator.
Submit the signed thesis/dissertation approval form.
Choose one of the submission options:
Upload as an “administrative document” to ProQuest as part of the ETD submission process
Submit in personEmail the form to the Graduate School (firstname.lastname@example.org) AFTER uploading your ETD and prior to the final submission deadline
NOTE: in lieu of signatures on the form, faculty members may email their approval. See revised approval signature policy.
PhD Students Only: Complete the survey of earned doctorates. Individual reports are kept confidential and are used for statistical purposes only. The information provided by this national survey is extremely helpful to graduate schools, workforce planning and funding agencies.
Within 1-3 weeks after submitting your ETD and approval form, you will receive an email from the Graduate School notifying you of any required formatting corrections.
If any corrections are required, you will have one week to make the corrections and upload a revised PDF.
Once your ETD has been approved by the Graduate School, you will receive an email confirming final approval.
The submission deadline is Monday of finals week each term.
The ETD submission must be successfully completed on ProQuest by 11:59 p.m. on the deadline.
If submitting the thesis/dissertation approval form in person to the Graduate School, it must be received by 5:00 p.m. on the deadline.
