The Developmental Risk and Cultural Resilience Lab (PI: Cindy Liu) at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School is looking to hire a postdoctoral fellow to join the research team on a longitudinal study (PIs: Cindy Liu & Tiffany Yip) focused on perceptions of racial discrimination among Chinese American adolescents, racial socialization processes that take place within parent-, peer-, and social media contexts, and impacts to mental health.

JSPS International Fellowships for Research in Japan

The Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) carries out programs that provide overseas researchers who have an excellent record of research achievements with an opportunity to conduct collaborative research, discussions, and opinion exchanges with researchers in Japan. These programs are intended to help advance the overseas researchers' research activities while promoting science and internationalization in Japan.

Applications for the program must be submitted through the institution; individual applications are not accepted. Institutions must submit complete documents to JSPS by the end of the application period. Please note that institutions may have an earlier deadline for compiling application forms, which could be more than a month before the JSPS deadline, depending on their procedures.

The application deadline (from host institution to JSPS) is April 26, 2024 (by 5 p.m. JST), with selection results published in early August 2024, and arrival in Japan scheduled between September 1, 2024, and November 30, 2024.

ARPA-E Fellowship

The Advanced Research Projects Agency – Energy (ARPA-E) is currently recruiting new Fellows! ARPA-E is an agency within the Department of Energy that funds high-risk, high-impact energy technologies. They are looking for creative early-career scientists and engineers to help direct the future of American energy innovation. The ARPA-E Fellowship is a prestigious, two-year, full-time, paid federal position in Washington, D.C. Fellows are responsible for:

  • Identifying technological whitespaces and conducting independent research and analysis, 
  • Contributing to new program development, guiding agency strategy, and leading outreach activities, and 
  • Engaging with innovators in academia, industry, start-ups, and government. 

ARPA-E Fellows join an agency filled with colleagues passionate about changing the world through energy technology development and commercialization and a tight-knit alumni network. Fellows do not perform laboratory research or directly engage in policymaking. The position is open to current U.S. citizens who have received a STEM Ph.D. within the last five years or plan to defend within the next one year. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
