Northwest Indian Language Institute (NILI)
  • Fall
  • Winter
  • Spring
Academic Year: 
  • Assist with planning and coordinating NILI's annual Summer Institute
  • May organize follow-up meetings with Summer Institute teacher-participants
  • Manage communications with tribal language programs and community members
  • May assist with developing new projects and events
  • Attend all NILI meetings
  • Assist with travel scheduling and reimbursements, processing of accounts payable, processing of contracts, and general office administration
  • Work with NILI staff members to prepare and disseminate NILI’s newsletter and brochures
  • Maintain regular office hours
  • Other duties and tasks as assigned

Graduate students pursuing any master’s or doctoral degree may apply.

Preferred Qualifications: 
  • Background in Linguistics
  • Experience with languages of the Northwest preferred
  • Experience organizing conferences and events
  • Tools: Microsoft Office, Photoshop, Microsoft Visual Studio, Excel
  • Experience in website maintenance and design
  • Experience in graphic design – newsletters, pamphlet layout
  • Work both as a team and independently
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills in a professional setting
