Graduate School Welcomes New Staff Members and GTFs

The Graduate School would like to introduce our two newest staff members, as well as our three new GTFs.

Brandy Teel joined us in August as our Engagement and Opportunities Manager, a position that represents a more innovative and mission-driven take on the Graduate School’s prior student affairs position. She brings to the position ten years of UO experience, eight of which were spent as the director of the ASUO Women’s Center in the Division of Student Life. Brandy oversees Graduate School events and award processes, and engages with faculty, staff, and graduate students to support graduate student professional development and postdoctoral fellows.

Nancy Willcox-Trent, who began on October 15th, serves as our Operations Coordinator and joins us with nearly ten years of office management experience (and a degree from UO). Her responsibilities include reception, managing our frontline, and providing significant fiscal and operational support. Her position replaces that of Judy Perkins, who will be retiring (for the second time) after seven years in the Graduate School. Join us in wishing Nancy a warm welcome and Judy a fond farewell.

Also on our staff are three new GTFs. Joe Mohr, a new master’s student in Computer & Information Science, joined us this past summer as our Data Management and Web GTF. Within the past eight years he served as a pilot, IT manager and web administrator for the US Navy, and web intern with USAble Life. Keisha Janney serves as our Graduate Recruitment and Diversity GTF. Now a master’s student in Couples and Family Therapy, she formerly worked as a Multicultural Inclusion Support Specialist at UO’s Center for Multicultural Academic Excellence and as the Assistant Director of Multicultural Academic Student Success at Central Michigan University. Our Communications GTF is Faith Swickard, a new master’s student in Interior Architecture. She brings extensive experience with creative software, design, marketing, and event planning/support to our team.
