Elizabeth McGuire

Elizabeth is honored to have been selected as a Raymund Fellow, and grateful for the support that the fellowship provides.

As an incoming Ph.D. student in the Anthropology Department, Elizabeth will be joining the Isotopic Paleoecology Lab. Her research interests include human-environment interactions, past and present ecological change, human osteology, and mortuary archaeology.

Elizabeth recently graduated from Bryn Mawr College with a B.A. in Anthropology and Classical and Near Eastern Archaeology with a minor in Geology.

During her time at Bryn Mawr, Elizabeth had the opportunity to collaborate with the Arch Street Project, a salvage archaeology initiative working to recover historic burials disturbed by construction in Philadelphia. Elizabeth has also assisted with archaeological projects in her home state of Maine and in Transylvania, Romania.

Additionally, Elizabeth has served as a teaching assistant in introductory anthropology and geology courses. This experience initially sparked her interest in education and after completing her Ph.D., Elizabeth hopes to pursue a career in science communication and outreach in addition to her own research.
