Program Description
The UOTeach MEd/licensure program welcomes applicants from across disciplines to apply their academic studies and passion for working with youth.
The University of Oregon offers both elementary multiple subjects and middle/high school education authorization levels.
General-education specializations at the secondary level include language arts, social sciences, sciences, mathematics, and world languages.
Students spend one year (four-terms) working with faculty, career teaching professionals, mentors, and peers developing teaching pedagogy skills and subject area instructional methods expertise. Courses are designed to support 34-weeks of supervised pre-service field experience.
Embedded in the curriculum is a licensure endorsement in English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), career training, and step-by-step support for successful submission of the Educator Teacher Performance Assessment (edTPA).
Upon successful completion, candidates apply for an Oregon preliminary teaching license. Completers interested in teaching out-of-state are eligible to apply for a reciprocal transfer license.
