This position will work with the UOEM and the Lab to further their collaborative innovations developing a Common Operating Picture web and mobile software application platform. UOEM and InfoGraphics have developed a functional web application that provides users with a means to visualize critical institutional datasets at a room, building, and campus-wide scale. Successful elements of the current application (Situational Awareness, Incident Management) will be repurposed to accommodate greater campus-wide usage – such as Event Calendars, Space Use Analysis, Asset Tracking, etc).
This is a unique experiential learning opportunity, integrating the practical needs of university administrative units with the advanced geospatial innovations being developed by the Lab. This GTF will be housed in the Lab and be working directly with a team of cutting-edge spatial application developers. Their innovations have garnered national recognition and most recently a Special Achievement in GIS Award from Esri, the industry leader in geospatial software applications. The GTF will take the skills and techniques acquired from their coursework and hone them to the professional standards of the Lab and UOEM.
This person will work on a variety of aspects of the project including the following to help support the campus’ risk assessment and on-line incident management tool:
