Duties: 

The Evening/Weekend Study Hall Monitor will be responsible for overseeing the structured study hall program within Services for Student-Athletes during non-traditional work hours, including weekends.  

The Evening/Weekend Study Hall Monitor will be required to handle the following duties: 

  • Limited supervision of weekend student staff including receptionists, tutors, lab monitors and IT workers
  • Some reception duties, answering questions, resolving problems and providing information to public on new academic learning center 
  • Monitor attendance of structured study hall participants;
  • Tutor subject area and Structured Study Hall participants as needed;
  • Communicate with SSA Staff regarding any issues or concerns
  • Assist with other projects as deemed necessary;

Hours:  Must be flexible and available to work 19 hours per week during specified hours listed above.

Graduate students pursuing any master’s or doctoral degree are eligible to apply.

Preferred Qualifications: 

Preference given to applicants demonstrating:

  • Specialization in sports administration, education, law, and public policy preferred.
  • Knowledge of UO Services for Student Athletes Office and Programs.
  • Superior oral/written communication skills and public speaking experience.
  • Event/program planning experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Experience working with people from a wide variety of educational and socio-economic backgrounds.
  • Familiarity with a variety of UO faculty, as well as departments for tutoring/advising purposes.
