UO & GTFF Come to Tentative Contract Agreement

The three-year agreement includes salary increases of 3.5%, 3.5%, and 3.7% in successive years, a 35% fee remission in the summer, and mandatory paid training that addresses employee-related policies and procedures. The agreement maintains the already excellent health benefits and expands the Graduate Student Assistance Fund to include childcare support for all graduate students who are welcoming a new child into the home and facing financial hardship.

The new agreement, which will be brought to GTFF members for ratification in the Fall, will now refer to Graduate Teaching Fellows (GTFs) as Graduate Employees (GEs), a term that does not apply to student employee positions held by graduate students. It also calls for the use of gender neutral pronouns in materials related to GEs. In recognition of this, the Graduate School will begin making language updates to our forms and our website this year.
