Call for Speakers at Inaugural GSA Talk Series!

The GSA and the Barn Light are excited to announce the inaugural GradTalks series!

The series will feature graduate students and faculty speaking about their work and research in a fun, casual environment. This is a great opportunity for grad students to practice sharing their work with an interdisciplinary audience.

GSA is still looking for speakers for our second event on December 10th, both at 7:30pm @ The Barn Light.

The event will feature between 3 and 4 speakers, and speakers will be given roughly ten minutes to talk about their work. At the end of the presentations, GSA will open up discussion to the general audience.

GSA hopes that GradTalks will provide a venue for students to share their research, and will increase community awareness of the great work that graduate students here at UO are a part of.

Interested in participating? Please contact Paula Wright, VP of Internal Affairs, at paulaw @ uoregon.edu with a brief (1-2 sentence) description of your topic, indicate what date(s) you are available for, and what department you’re in.

If you’re unavailable Fall term but would like to be considered as a speaker in 2015, let Paula know as well. (GSA hopes to host the event every other week beginning Winter term.)
